      Admin Volunteer, JobSense – Cardiff or Wrexham

      Project Aims & Goals

      JobSense is a Welsh Government and European Social Fund initiative developed by Action on Hearing Loss Cymru, Elite Supported Employment Agency and the Centre of Sign, Sight & Sound to support people who are Deaf or have a hearing loss, who have tinnitus, who have a sight loss or who are Deafblind, to find employment or to access education, training and work experience. The project also provides help and support to employers who are working with people who have a sensory loss.

      Tasks

      To assist staff with administrative tasks such as data input, photocopying, phone calls and emails, etc.

      Skills needed


      • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, issues affecting people who are Deaf, have tinnitus or hearing loss
      • Confident in using a computer and willing to learn/enhance administrative skills

      Action on Hearing Loss Cymru Offices, Cardiff or Wrexham

      Time:

      To be agreed.

      Transport

      You will need to be able to travel by yourself to the volunteering location, whether by car or public transport. Expenses incurred will be reimbursed according to the Action on Hearing Loss Travel and Subsistence Policy.

      Support and supervision:

      Support will be available from the Volunteer Coordinator and the JobSense team, plus the wider Action on Hearing Loss staff as and when required.

      Training/Learning needed

      Action on Hearing Loss offers full, on-going training for all volunteers including a half day induction and then further training specific to the volunteering role. This may include:

      • Full training provided on technology, online services, and delivering training and support
      • Accredited training in “Understanding Hearing Loss” and “Planning an Event”
      • Access to “Skills Gate,” and e-learning portal with access to hundreds of different units and topics
      • Opportunities to attend sessions ran by Action on Hearing Loss including “Active Listeners” and “Hearing Technology”
