It happened suddenly, and without warning. Will you help?

Donate today to help fund vital research into sudden hearing loss.

“My name is Carly Sygrove and nine months ago, I lost the hearing in my left ear. It happened suddenly, and without warning. A loud screeching sound filled my head with pressure. I felt lightheaded and disorientated. I turned to my friend and I could see she was talking, but I couldn’t hear anything she was saying.
This has had a massive impact on my life. I’m not able to return to my job as a teacher – perhaps I never will. That breaks my heart, because I’ve put so much into my career.
And I’ve found next-to-nothing to explain my symptoms, and no viable treatments. Why is this devastating condition not better known? And how could something so life-changing be so under-represented in the medical world?

I’ve now discovered that Action on Hearing Loss is committed to research into hearing loss – including my own condition. But they are the only UK charity dedicated to this kind of research. And what’s more, all their research is funded by donations.

This research is vital to help me – and the thousands of us devastated by sudden hearing loss. I hope kind supporters will give a gift today. Will you help?”
Your donation will help scientists work towards better treatments and cures for people like Carly. You could transform lives.
