On this page, you’ll find some useful information on how to go about including us in your will along with some details on our free will writing service.
If you haven’t yet written your will
If you are having your will drawn up by a solicitor (which we advise), they'll advise you on the wording. But if your will is being drawn up by someone other than a solicitor, then you may find the suggested wording below helpful.
To give a share of your estate (a residuary legacy)
"I give ...% of the residue of my estate to Action on Hearing Loss (Registered Charity Numbers 207720 and SC038926), 1-3 Highbury Station Rd, London, N1 1SE, for its general charitable purposes, and I direct that the receipt of the Treasurer, or duly authorised officer, shall be a valid and appropriate form of discharge."
To give a fixed sum of money (a pecuniary legacy)
"I give to Action on Hearing Loss (Numbers 207720 and SC038926), 1-3 Highbury Station Rd, London, N1 1SE, the sum of (amount in figures and words) to be used for its general charitable purposes, and I direct that the receipt of the Treasurer, or duly authorised officer, shall be a valid and appropriate form of discharge."
Please remember that you can also index-link a pecuniary legacy so that it keeps its current value.
Don't worry, if you have any questions you can call us on 020 3227 6023, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you have already written your will
If you want to add a gift to Action on Hearing Loss to your existing will, the easiest way may be to draw up a codicil (an additional legal instruction or amendment). You can do this very simply by using our downloadable codicil form.
