Is the volume on your TV is turned up so loud that it disturbs other members of the family, or even the neighbours? Perhaps you sit closer to the TV than you really should, in order to hear. Is it difficult to listen to the radio or music player too? Our range of smart, modern TV listeners are designed to help.
With a TV listener, you’ll be able to enjoy the TV, radio, and music at a volume you’re comfortable with, while friends and family can listen at their preferred level. The sound will go straight to your ears, or through your hearing aids, independently of the TV speaker.
Many TV listeners for the hard of hearing have a number of features to help you tailor the sound to your hearing needs, including tone control, left/right volume balance and speech enhancement. Some TV listeners, including the Amplicomms TV2500 and Geemarc CL7350 Opticlip double as a conversation listener thanks to an in-built microphone.
Radio Frequency (RF) TV listeners have a longer range, meaning you can even pop out for a cuppa during the ad break and hear when your programme is coming back on. Infrared (IR) TV listeners require direct line of sight, so can't do this, but they're often a bit cheaper.
TV listeners have two parts: a base unit (transmitter), which connects to your TV set or audio system, and a listening aid (receiver) which transfers the sound to your ears. Choose a neckloop or ear hooks if you use hearing aids with a loop or ‘T’ setting. If you don’t wear hearing aids, opt for a stethoset, earbuds, or headphones for watching TV. The CL7400 are high-quality TV headphones for hard of hearing people. The Sennheiser RS 2000 is another great option if you’re looking for wireless headphones for TV watching.
Please note: If you wear a pacemaker, check with your GP or pacemaker supplier before using a TV listener with a neckloop.
