      Product details

The Roger Pen & MyLink Bundle listening system enables people with hearing loss to join in again. You’ll no longer struggle to follow conversations, even over distance, with several people talking or when there’s background noise. It’s an amplified conversation listener ideal for work, at home or when you’re socialising. It features Bluetooth for mobile phone conversations and can also be used to hear the TV, Skype calls and video conferences.

The listening system is a discreet wireless microphone. The Roger Pen picks up sounds and transmits the signal direct to your hearing aids through the MyLink neckloop receiver. You’ll hear the speaker’s words directly in your ears, without any distracting background noise. Simply place the Roger Pen horizontally on a table to listen to a group of people, point it towards the person you want to hear, or pass it to the person speaking.

      Key benefits:

      • All-in-one listening system – The Roger Pen acts as a transmitter and the sound is picked up by the MyLink receiver which is worn around your neck.
      • Superb sound quality – Put on the wireless neckloop and switch your hearing aids to the ‘T’ or loop setting. (Non-hearing aid wearers can connect headphones to enjoy superb sound quality.)
      • Hassle-free to use – The Roger Pen reduces background noise and allows you to tune into different situations without having to change settings.
      • For one-to-one or group conversations – Simply put the Roger Pen on a table to listen to a group of people, point it towards the person you want to hear, or pass it to the person speaking.
      • Enhance your favourite activities – Connect wirelessly to TV, landline telephone, computer, MP3 player, hi-fi etc, without disturbing anyone else with high sound levels.
      • Take it out and about – Wherever you are, simply point the Roger Pen towards the person you want to listen to and you’ll hear them loud and clear.

The right solution for every situation:

      At work

When you're at work, having a one-to-one conversation, listening and taking part in meetings, and talking on the phone can be very challenging if you're confronting deafness or hearing loss. The Roger Pen will help you perform more confidently and effectively. Use it at your desk to join in conversations with colleagues and to answer the phone (see ‘Making phone calls’, below). It’s also a must-have device at meetings and conferences (see below).

      Meetings and conferences

Do you struggle to follow what’s happening at meetings or conferences? With the Roger Pen, you’ll hear speech more clearly. There are three automatic microphone settings: Conference style – place the Roger Pen in the middle of a table to listen to a group of people. Interview style – hold the Roger Pen in your hand and point it towards the person you want to hear. Around the neck – use the lanyard (supplied) to hang the Roger Pen around the neck of the speaker.

      Home entertainment

The Roger Pen transmits high-quality sound directly into your hearing aids (or via headphones if you don’t wear hearing aids) without disturbing others with loud sound levels. It connects easily to the TV, computers, MP3 players, hi-fis etc. You can also use the short micro-USB audio cable to connect your multimedia devices directly to your Roger Pen.

      Making phone calls

The Roger Pen connects to Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones and smartphones so you can make and receive phone calls more easily. The microphone will transmit your voice and you can answer or hang up a call using the buttons on the side. You can also purchase telephone conversation adapter which connects to selected landline phones to amplify and improve the sound quality of calls at home and work.

      Socialising

In noisy places like cafés and restaurants, with many speakers and sounds coming from different directions, you can follow the conversation however loud the situation with the Roger Pen. Simply put it on a table to listen to a group of people, point it towards the person you want to hear or pass it to whomever is speaking.

      Out and about

Wherever you are and whatever you’re doing (shopping, exercising, chatting in the car, listening to a tour guide), simply point the Roger Pen towards the person you want to listen to and you’ll hear them loud and clear.

      In the classroom

If your child has hearing loss, a Roger Pen will make a huge difference to their hearing and understanding in the classroom. It enables children to focus on their work, rather than their hearing, and makes speech so clear, they’ll feel like they’re sitting in the front row. What’s more, it expands educational opportunities – students can choose from a broader range of GCSE subjects, for example, such as music, performing arts and so on.

      Phonak Roger Pen features:

      • Omni-directional – picks up amplified sound from all around
      • Directional – point it in the direction of the sound you want to hear
      • Super-directional – you can focus just on the speaker’s voice, even from 25m away, if they’re holding the Roger Pen or wearing it on a lanyard (supplied)
