Do you struggle to hear the TV, even with your hearing aids turned up? A home hearing loop system allows you to hear your favourite TV programmes, directly through your hearing aids on the loop or ‘T’ setting, with excellent sound quality. Any number of people with hearing aids can listen to TV in the looped area.
It’s very easy to install and use a hearing aid loop system at home. The loop cable goes around the edge of your room - tuck it under the carpet or tack it to the skirting board - and plugs back into the loop amplifier. The amplifier then connects to your TV, or other sound source, so you can tune into your favourite shows without needing a headset or receiver.
Some loop amplifiers, including the LA240 hearing loop system, MegaLoopDAC hearing loop amplifier and Echo Megaloop induction loop system, have a separate microphone connection to amplify conversations at the flick of a switch, or alert you to the phone or doorbell when you’re watching TV.
Other useful features on selected hearing loop systems include volume and tone control; built-in digital audio compatibility; and automatic gain control, to prevent loud and sudden noise increases coming through the loop. Some loop systems include a headphone connection to amplify sound for anyone who struggles to watch TV but doesn’t use hearing aids.
The biggest advantage of a loop system is that you can hear your TV directly through your hearing aids anywhere within the looped area.
