Realising that you are not catching all the conversation even when your hearing aids are in can be very frustrating. But you wouldn't be alone - so many people who live with hearing loss rely on more than just hearing aids to provide intelligible audio.
Our range of assistive listening devices are extremely popular - and give a boost to hearing aid wearers in the situations where sound quality can suffer.
The Contego Personal Listening Device is a firm favourite amongst our customers. If you want a tool that enhances the sounds and voices you want to hear and minimise background noise, then this is the kit for you.
How does the Contego Personal Listening Device work?
This personal listener comes in three separate parts:
Receiver - this helps send the sounds you want to hear to your hearing aid.
Neckloop - this is worn around the neck and connects to the receiver. It works with the receiver to relay sound to your hearing aid.
Transmitter - This picks up sound and wirelessly sends it to the receiver from up to 25 metres away. This is particularly useful when listening to someone or something from a distance.
This 25 metre field helps in lectures, classrooms, board meetings, training workshops - anywhere where the speaker is some distance from you. Simply hand the transmitter to the speaker and enjoy amplified sound to your hearing aids.
You decide what you want to hear
The Contego offers flexible hearing. Enjoying a conversation around a table at a dinner party and listening in on a lecture requires two different types of hearing. The Contego allows you to control this with a touch of a button. You can set the microphones to draw in sound from all around (like around a dinner table) or a you can set them to just pick the audio up from a specific direction - perfect for talks and presentations.
Don’t worry - it’s simple to use
You’ll be pleased to know that that this omni directional listening device is really easy to use. There are no complicated menus. You can control the volume of the transmitter and the receiver separately using simple ‘up’ and ‘down’ buttons. The display clearly shows how loud you have set the volume.
You also change between the two different microphone settings at the touch of a button. So, if you are listening to a presentation and then suddenly want to hear what someone in the audience is saying then you can quickly adjust the microphone settings accordingly.
