Carbon monoxide (CO) is extremely poisonous. It’s a colourless, odourless and tasteless gas that can be emitted by faulty heating and cooking gas appliances.
The FireHawk wireless carbon monoxide alarm (CO7B-10Y-W) will give a loud audible alarm when it detects carbon monoxide, even at levels as low as 30ppm. This potentially life-saving device is small enough to be used when travelling to give protection against faulty appliances wherever you are.
The unit contains a sealed-in battery with a 10-year life span and a clear operational indication light. Other features include an alarm silence button for non-emergency nuisance alarms, low battery warning and end of alarm life indication.
Three LEDs on the front of the alarm indicate:
Alarm (red) when the alarm has detected harmful levels of CO
Power (green) flashes one every minute when the alarm is operating
Fault (yellow) indicates a fault in the alarm.
The FireHawk carbon monoxide alarm works as a stand-alone alarm for hearing people, or can be combined with the FireHawk control unit with strobe and vibrating pad (available separately)
to create a deaf-friendly system that’s suitable for people with all levels of hearing loss. The vibrating pad goes under the pillow to wake you at night, and a bright flashing strobe light alerts you during the day.
The FireHawk carbon monoxide alarm can be interlinked to a network of heat and smoke detectors to provide wide coverage and protection of your home. For example, you could use a carbon monoxide alarm near the boiler, a heat detector in the kitchen and smoke detectors in the living room, hallway, landing and bedrooms. This means that in a network of alarms, when one goes off they all go off. Up to 14 smoke alarms, or a combination of smoke, heat alarms and carbon monoxide alarms, work with the system.
