This wireless smoke alarm system (FH700HIA) helps people with hearing loss to stay safe at home. The bright strobe light provides a visual warning during the day, while the under-pillow vibrating pad gives a powerful alert at night. The FH700HIA works with FireHawk wireless smoke, heat and carbon monoxide alarms (available separately) and is suitable for all levels of hearing loss.
This wireless smoke alarm system (FH700HIA) comprises a small control unit with high intensity LED strobe light that alerts people who are deaf or have hearing loss to smoke, fire or carbon monoxide. A vibrating pillow pad connects to the control unit and provides a danger warning when you’re asleep.
The control unit has rechargeable battery back up to ensure the system will continue to work if there’s a mains power failure. LEDs on the control unit show the status of the system, and a test button tests all parts of the system. The control unit can be freestanding (table mount bracket supplied) or wall mounted.
This is the only smoke alarm system that can work with two vibrating pads, one for each side of a bed (second vibrating pad available separately). For peace of mind, it has a latching connector to prevent accidental disconnection of the vibrating pad.
The control unit connects wirelessly with the FireHawk wireless base on which a FireHawk smoke alarm or FireHawk heat alarm can be fitted. FireHawk carbon monoxide alarms can also be wirelessly connected using a separate base.
The system is designed to BS5446-3 2015 – a British Safety standard for domestic smoke alarms for people with hearing loss and deafness that Action on Hearing Loss helped develop.
Instructions provide details on installation, operation and maintenance. We recommend the system is installed to BS 5839 part 6 2013.
