      Product details

This smoke alarm transmitter is part of the Bellman Visit home alerting system that helps you stay safe and independent at home. It detects smoke and smouldering fire at an early stage and relays the alarm directly to your chosen Bellman Visit receiver (available separately). You’ll get alerted by sound, flashes or vibrations, depending on the receiver, with enough time to get out of harm’s way.

The Visit smoke alarm uses a highly reliable radio link between the alarm and Bellman receiver(s) with a range of up to 200m in line of sight from the alarm to the receiver(s). The range is reduced by walls, large objects and other radio transmitters, such as TVs and mobile phones. It’s equipped with toast mode to avoid false alarms while you are cooking.

You’ll always know that it’s working properly thanks to the faulty unit warning that raises an alarm if it’s contaminated with dirt, dust or cobwebs. There’s a large, easy-to-use test button that can be pressed by a walking stick, or similar, which means that you don’t need to use a chair or ladder to test the smoke alarm. For extra peace of mind, a low battery warning is sent to all Bellman receivers (same radio key settings required) and the smoke alarm unit also has a flashing LED light and audible ‘chirp’ to notify of a low battery. There’s a useful broadcast mode which transmits an alarm to all receivers within range when the smoke alarm is activated, overriding the radio key settings. This feature needs to be activated by the user.

In order to use the smoke alarm, you need to remove mounting bracket from the unit and fit the two AA lithium batteries provided. You’ll then need to fit the mounting bracket to the ceiling using the screws/rawlplugs supplied and fit the smoke alarm unit to the mounting bracket. Finally, you should test the smoke alarm with a Bellman Receiver or set up the radio key on the receiver/change the radio key of the smoke alarm by following the manufacturer’s instructions.
