Technology to improve hearing in background noise

Posted on 02/03/2016

We're trying to find out more about people’s awareness and use of technology in background noise – as well as its benefits and limitations.

In a previous study Action on Hearing Loss established that background noise causes real difficulties for people with hearing loss. In particular, restaurants, bars and cafés are becoming increasingly difficult spaces for having conversations: the background noise and music are louder than ever.

This survey will help us drive improvements in current technology – and identify areas where we can encourage innovation of new technology to help people with hearing loss communicate more easily in noisy places.

You can take the survey here:

The survey will close on the 31st March. We hope you can take part.
