Who we areWe are a specialist supported-housing service, in Tumble, Carmarthenshire. We can support three men or women, aged 18 and over, who are deaf, deafblind or have hearing loss with additional complex needs, such as learning or physical disabilities and mental ill-health.
Our housing-related support and domiciliary care provides the opportunity to live independently, within a safe and relaxed environment, with staff on-site 24 hours a day.
Derwen Road is registered with the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW).
What we can offer - how we support youWe can give you a safe and comfortable place to live. Derwen Road is a fully wheelchair-accessible bungalow with three en-suite bedrooms, fitted with specialist equipment so that you can get around safely and independently. Our bright and airy living room, with TV and DVD player, is a lovely place to relax and spend time with other people. We also have a spacious kitchen, dining area, a laundry room and garden.
We will empower you to carry out day to day tasks as independently as possible, with support where and when you need it. Our staff team work in a person-centred way and will encourage, prompt and support you in all aspects of everyday life – from making healthy lifestyle choices and managing your medicines, to dealing with housing issues, budgeting, going to college or help to find and apply for a volunteer opportunity or job. We are also registered to provide domiciliary care, so if you need support with personal care, we can help you with that as well. Our friendly staff team are based on-site and will talk to you on a daily basis about what you plan to do and how you would like to be supported.
