Who we areWe are a specialist residential care home, without nursing, in Walsall, West Midlands and provide 24-hour support to six men and women who are deaf or deafblind, aged 18 and over. We provide rehabilitation for people who may be experiencing issues such as mental ill-health, periods of emotional stress or behavioural difficulties and offer a stepping stone to more independent living.
We support people to be as independent as possible – according to their abilities. The people we support usually have a high level of need initially but, as they progress through their programme of learning, they become more independent until, hopefully, residential care is no longer necessary.
What we do - how we support you
We can give you a safe and comfortable place to live. Mulberry House has six fully self-contained flats – this helps to provide a feeling of independence and community living but within the safety of a residential environment. We also have a communal kitchen and lounge with TV and DVD player, where people like to spend time chatting and relaxing together or with their friends and family. Our large garden has seating, raised flower planters and a lawn.
We will empower you to do things for yourself, supporting you with all aspects of daily life – from making healthy lifestyle choices and managing your medicines, to cooking, budgeting, learning new skills and getting involved in the local community.
