Who we areHuguenot Place is a specialist care home, without nursing, in Wandsworth, south-west London. We provide a 24-hour support service to five deaf and/or deafblind men and women over the age of 18. The people we support have a range of diverse and sometimes complex needs, including learning and physical disabilities, mental ill-health and low emotional confidence.
We support people to develop the knowledge and skills they need to be as independent as possible – while acknowledging that some people need more input than others to achieve this. We encourage the people we support to focus on their personal health and wellbeing, and explore social and recreational interests so they can lead happy and fulfilling lives.
What we can offer - how we support you
We can give you a safe and comfortable place to live in our shared home. Our three-storey house has five bedrooms, each with a washbasin – and there are bathrooms on the first and second floors. Our spacious and light lounge is a lovely place to sit and relax or watch TV, and we have an open plan kitchen/dining area and laundry room. The small courtyard garden at the back of the house has recently been developed with a local community organisation. Everyone at Huguenot Place got involved and the new garden now includes window boxes, hanging baskets and a seating area.
We will empower you to do things for yourself, supporting you with all aspects of daily life – from making healthy lifestyle choices and managing your medicines, to cooking, budgeting, learning new skills and getting involved in the local community.
