Who we are
We are a specialist residential care home, without nursing, in Blackburn. We can support six men and women over the age of 18. The people we support are deaf, deafblind or have hearing loss, with additional complex needs, including physical and learning disabilities.
Everyone who lives at Fosse Bank has the opportunity to live the life they want, with a support package designed around their individual needs. People may want to learn skills with us that they can use in future in their own homes or, alternatively, some people may wish to stay with us longer term. Whatever the person's goals, we will support them to achieve the things they want in life.
What we can offer - how we support you
We can give you a safe and comfortable place to live. Fosse Bank House is set within spacious grounds and has six purpose-built self-contained flats, each with a bathroom, kitchen and living area so that you can develop your independence living skills at your own pace and with the support of our staff team.
We also know that many people like to join together to cook, eat and socialise and so we also have shared kitchen and dining facilities as well as a large lounge that anybody living here is welcome to use. Our large peaceful garden has a patio and seating area and we encourage anyone with an interest in gardening to get involved in growing things and taking care of the grounds.
We will empower and enable you to carry out tasks as independently as possible, in the way you want and can control. We'll encourage, prompt and support you in all aspects of everyday life – from making healthy lifestyle choices and managing your medicines, to cooking, budgeting, learning new skills and getting involved in the local community.
