Trustee vacancies

Our Trustees are responsible for the governance of Action on Hearing Loss and work with our Chief Executive and Executive Group to oversee strategic policy and direction. There are 14 Trustees, each serving for a term of three years, and the Board meets up to six times annually.

The vacancies are:

  • One Trustee to be elected by members resident in the whole of the UK; and
  • One Trustee to be elected by members resident in Northern Ireland.
While any interested person may be nominated for election, the Trustees are keen to receive applications from people who have personal experience of deafness or hearing loss, individuals who have experience in digital marketing, or people with specific skills or experience in fundraising. All nominees must be strong advocates for the charity and its services.

Standing for Trustee election

To stand for a Trustee vacancy, you must  be nominated by someone who has been  a member of Action on Hearing Loss since before 24 May 2017. If you do not know any members eligible to nominate, please tell us. We are committed to diversity and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds.

The deadline for nominations for the Trustee vacancies is 4 September 2017.

If there are more nominations than Trustee vacancies, we will send voting forms to our members in October. The outcome of the Trustee elections will be announced at our Annual General Meeting on 24 November 2017. All successful candidates must be members  of Action on Hearing Loss at the date of their appointment and all Trustee appointments are subject to a DBS check. Successful candidates for the Trustee vacancies are expected to be available for induction on 11 December 2017. Interested candidates are asked to please keep this date free.
