Gift Aid

For every £1 you donate, we can grow this by another 25p!

As Action on Hearing Loss can reclaim tax you've paid, just let us know you want us to Gift Aid your donations. It costs you nothing!

Thanks to our wonderful supporters, we were able to claim more than £400,000 in Gift Aid in the 2014-2015 financial year, to help people confronting deafness, tinnitus and hearing loss.

This was enough to fund three research projects like our recent breakthrough discovery of genes linked to hearing loss, which is crucial in developing effective treatments.

So, as you can see, with Gift Aid your donations really do go further. Here's how you can make a difference through Gift Aid:

  • Your donation of £20 could now be worth £25, which could pay for 25 guides to help employers improve deaf awareness in their organisations
  • Your donation of £50 could now be worth £62.50, which could train two volunteers in how to support people with hearing loss, including help with hearing aids
  • Your £8 monthly donation could now be worth £10. Every month, your £10 donation could pay for two hours of microscope use by researchers trying to understand how to prevent hearing loss.

Action on Hearing Loss helped develop the cochlear implant, which has given the miracle of sound to thousands of people. Together, we can transform lives and help more people like Richard to live the life that they choose.

“I got a cochlear implant last year. Being able to hear better is like meeting up with an old friend you haven’t seen in a long time. I’m constantly surprised and amazed at the sounds I remember and can suddenly hear so clearly again."

Richard Turner, 43, Woodford

Terms and conditions of the Gift Aid scheme

By agreeing to Gift Aid your donation, you are confirming that you are a UK taxpayer and are happy for us to reclaim tax on donations you make in the future – and all donations made in the past four years – to Action on Hearing Loss.

If you pay less Income Tax/Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed in that tax year, then it is your responsibility to pay any difference. Currently, this must cover just 25p in every £1 donated.

Gift Aid is only claimed on eligible donations. Donations made via CAF and other tax-efficient schemes, including payroll giving, are excluded.

Please let us know if your address, or the amount of tax you pay, changes.
