The Excellence Wales Awards are an opportunity to celebrate organisations across Wales (in the public, private and third sector) that make their workplace accessible to people who are deaf or have hearing loss. This includes making services truly accessible to all customers and/or ensuring that opportunities in the workplace are open to all.

This year’s event, kindly supported by Western Power Distribution, presents an opportunity for organisations to place a spotlight on the excellent work that they do with, and for, deaf and hearing loss customers and colleagues pan Wales.

Our 2018 winners included Western Power Distribution, Cardiff and Vale University Health Board’s Dental Clinical Board and Pulmonary Rehab Llandough Hospital, Get the Chance and the Sherman Theatre.

This year there are four main categories: Service Excellence, Excellence in Health, Excellence in Arts and Entertainment, and Excellent Employer.

Each entry that is shortlisted will also be entered for the People’s Choice Award, where the general public will be able to vote to decide the winner of this award via the Action on Hearing Loss website. Other awards will be decided by an independent panel of deaf and hearing loss ambassadors appointed by Action on Hearing Loss, based on organisational submissions.

The winner of this award will be decided by the general public. Voting will close on 29 April.

The awards will be held over lunch at the St David’s Hotel, Cardiff Bay, on 17 May, 2019.
