Gina became a volunteer while completing a life skills course with Cedar Foundation, a local charity based in Belfast. She has continued volunteering having finished her placement and supports Action on Hearing Loss through a variety of admin tasks every Friday.
Gina said: “Volunteering with Action on Hearing Loss has made such a difference to my life. I am more confident than I was this time last year, I have learned so much about hearing loss and the support available to people like myself who have a dual sensory loss. I enjoy what I am doing and feel supported by the team in the office.”
Regional Volunteer Manager Laura Murphy says: “Gina is an absolute pleasure to work with, she is very helpful, creative and great craic! I have watched Gina become more confident and independent over the past year, bringing so much to the wider team. Gina is also a very talented writer – watch this space!"
