Our report, funded by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS), details how lipreading and related support can help people with hearing loss stay in, and find, work.

This report focuses on our recent project aimed at exploring the role of providing lipreading and related support to people in employment, or seeking to move in to work.

The project examined ways to get this support to more people, and the value to the individual of providing such support, particularly in terms of employment experiences.

It comes after the need to improve timely access and signposting to support services, such as lipreading, was set out in the government’s Action Plan on Hearing Loss, published in March 2015 (Department of Health/NHS England, 2015).
