Since 2014, we've been working with Boots Hearingcare on the 'The Great Big Hearing Check'. This is a month-long, UK-wide event in which volunteers talk to the public about the importance of their hearing health. During the campaign period, Boots offers free 15-minute hearing checks and for every new appointment booked donates £1 towards our life-changing work.
So far, this fantastic partnership encouraged over 100,000 people to get their hearing checked, thereby achieving both organisations' strategic objectives, but has also raised more than £300,000 for Action on Hearing Loss.
Waitrose Community Matters Online
During the months of March, April and May 2018, Waitrose Community Matters Online supported the work of Action on Hearing Loss. For these three months culminating in May, when we marked Deaf Awareness Week, Waitrose internet shoppers across the UK were able to select one of three national charities to support, in a similar way to the green token scheme that runs in their stores. Their profits were then divided between the three charities, based on shopper's votes, to help good causes.
Phonak became a partner when we collaborated on user reviews of new products and technologies. This has increased awareness of what's currently available in the hearing aid market, and encouraged people to accept and address their hearing loss. Our supporters have also volunteered to trial and review products.
