You should always go to your GP if you are having difficulty hearing
The Hearing Check does not detect hearing loss caused by problems in the middle or outer ear such infections and perforations of the ear drum. So if you are having difficulty hearing despite getting a normal result, it’s a good idea to go along to your GP just in case. Please also be aware that the Hearing Check cannot assess how well you hear speech through hearing aids.
The Hearing Check should not be used for children
Anyone under 14 should always be seen by a GP and referred for a full diagnostic test if there is any concern over their ears or hearing.
