Benefits and services

If you have hearing loss, you may be entitled to benefits, equipment or services. There is also support available from different agencies, whether you need extra help at work, at home, with education or with transport. For more general information, see our leaflet Benefits: your rights and entitlements.

How do I make a claim?

There are a number of places you can go to if you have any queries about making a claim for benefits. See the next section Useful contacts for full contact details.

  • For any questions about benefits, you should first contact the Benefit Enquiry Line or use the online Benefits adviser service (external link, opens new browser window).
  • If you need help filling in a form or want to speak to someone in person, contact the Benefit Enquiry Line or your local Citizens Advice (external link, opens new browser window).
  • Alternatively, contact your local Jobcentre Plus or Social Security office. They may be able to arrange for a visiting officer to come and see you in your own home.
  • If you still need further help after contacting these organisations please contact our helpline.
