How much is Personal Independence Payment (PIP)?

There are ‘standard’ and ‘enhanced’ rates for each component of PIP

The proposed weekly rates for 2013/14 are:

Daily living component 

  • Standard: £53 (same as the middle rate care component of DLA)
  • Enhanced: £79.15 (same as the highest rate of the care component of DLA)

Mobility component  

  • Standard: £21 (same as the lower rate of the mobility component of DLA)
  • Enhanced: £55.25 (same as the higher rate of the mobility component of DLA).

PIP is paid every four weeks into your bank account, building society, credit union, Post Office Card account or by Simple Payment – whatever you identify at the start of your claim.

Claimants who are terminally ill will receive payments weekly.
