    &lt;p&gt;This will be a manned event at Porton Down, which will have information stands on all aspects of Deaf Awareness. There will also be hearing related companies also in attendance.&lt;/p&gt;
    &lt;h3&gt;Attending the event &lt;br /&gt;&lt;/h3&gt;
    &lt;p&gt;This event is for staff from Porton Down (MOD) in Salisbury. This will include military and civilian staff members. The Occupational Health Department will be there to try and gain more information from the companies.&lt;/p&gt;

    &lt;p&gt;The stand will have information about communication support and services, Access, Training and Consultancy (ATC) teams and local engagement facilities and how they help to reduce communication barriers faced by people who are deaf or have hearing loss. &lt;/p&gt;

    &lt;p&gt;Whether you are a healthcare worker, clinician, interpreter, someone with deafness or hearing loss, or just interested in these issues, this event is a great chance to gain and share information about communication support and services. &lt;/p&gt;

    &lt;p&gt;This stand is for healthcare staff plus all patients coming in and out of the hospital, their families and support networks. However, whether you are someone with deafness or hearing loss, or just interested in these issues come along and visit the stand. &lt;/p&gt;
    &lt;p&gt;Visitors can drop in and find information, leaflets and factsheets. There will also be information about the audiology department’s services.&lt;/p&gt;
    &lt;h3&gt;Stand details&lt;/h3&gt;
    &lt;p&gt;The information table for this stand will be in the main entrance area of the hospital entrance&lt;/p&gt;
    &lt;ul&gt;
      &lt;li&gt;The stand will then be left in situ, un-manned, at Weston for the Wednesday and Thursday&lt;/li&gt;
      &lt;li&gt;Representatives from Action on Hearing Loss will be on the stand all day on &lt;strong&gt;Tuesday 8 May &lt;/strong&gt;and from 09:30 - 12:30 on &lt;strong&gt;Friday 11 May 2012&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/li&gt;

    &lt;p&gt;This year, Deaf Awareness Week will be held from Monday 7th – Sunday 13th May. &lt;/p&gt;
    &lt;p&gt;Action on Hearing Loss will be hosting a number of stands during the event to raise awareness of the issues surrounding those with &lt;a href="/your-hearing/about-deafness-and-hearing-loss.aspx"&gt;deafness or hearing loss&lt;/a&gt;, who have had problems accessing healthcare services. This event invites those funding and running these services to think about how they support patients who are deaf or have hearing loss. &lt;/p&gt;
    &lt;p&gt;This stand will have information about communication support and services, Access, Training and Consultancy (ATC) teams and local engagement facilities and how they help to reduce communication barriers faced by people who are deaf or have hearing loss. &lt;/p&gt;
    &lt;h3&gt;Drop-in&lt;/h3&gt;
    &lt;p&gt;Whether you are a healthcare worker, clinician, interpreter, someone with deafness or hearing loss, or interested in these issues, this event is a great chance to gain and share information about communication support and services. &lt;/p&gt;

    &lt;p&gt;203 pharmacies will hand out more than 200,000 'take our hearing check' postcards and pharmacists will be given communication tips to help them communicate effectively with their deaf and hard of hearing customers. &lt;/p&gt;
    &lt;p&gt;Whether you are someone with deafness or hearing loss, or just interested in these issues, this campaign is a great chance to learn more about &lt;a href="/your-hearing.aspx"&gt;your hearing &lt;/a&gt;and get help or advice from Action on Hearing Loss.&lt;/p&gt;
