The Action on Hearing Loss Scotland fundraising team and volunteers have been out in force at a number of events not only raising funds but also raising awareness about Action on Hearing Loss’ work.
Kicking off proceedings was a visit to St. Mirren Park in Paisley where local side St. Mirren were playing Dunfermline. The team from Action on Hearing Loss proved to be a huge success even before the referee had blown the whistle for kick-off. The man in charge, Community Fundraiser, Adam Kelly, played a two-two system placing his side around the ground.
Next stop was Glasgow and a collection day in Glasgow Central Station. It was first time out for some new fundraising volunteers and the event was further boosted by the presence of our Hear to Help colleagues who were on hand to offer advice and hearing aid maintenance.
It was then on to Texas Instruments in Greenock where the team were on hand to offer hearing checks and to give information to staff. A huge thanks goes to Helen Bannerman from Texas Instruments for helping organise the checks.
The team finished their activities by doing a bag pack at Marks and Spencer where hundreds of people met the staff and volunteers with some shoppers requesting information on deafness.
All of these activities have let to over £1000 being raised for community fundraising.
Adam Kelly said, “We have a great team in our fund raising task force who are always up for volunteering and for a laugh. Anyone who wants to organise an event or take part in our fundraising events should contact me at adam.kelly@hearingloss.org.uk .”
