Scotland team visits Dundee Students Association

Posted on 16/11/2011

Volunteers at Dundee Students Associaiton Volunteers and staff recently visited Dundee University Students Association to give students the chance to try our Hearing Check. Our sound head also made its debut at DUSA and students were able to get the level that they were listening to their MP3 measured as well.

The chance for students to find out more about hearing protection and have their hearing checked came about following our successful visit to the Freshers Fayre. Working with the Students Association the team took the opportunity to take the message to the wider student body and to give them the information they needed to take action!

Campaigner Eileen Clarkson said, “We were delighted to return to Dundee University and work with the Students Association.  Students were really interested in hearing protection and were up for taking the hearing check and getting their MP3 players checked out. Both myself and the volunteers had a great time and enjoyed our visit.

Thomas Dale, Vice President of Student Welfare said, “Action on Hearing Loss Scotland have already been to a couple of events at the Students Association and they have been a great success.  We are really keen for students to know about how best to protect their hearing but still enjoy their music.  Having the chance to take the hearing check and use the sound head is great way of getting students to think about their hearing health and take the appropriate action.”
