Action on Hearing Loss help Scottish Enterprise staff to Act Now

Posted on 09/11/2011

Staff at Scottish Enterprise taking the Action on Hearing Loss hearing check.

Action on Hearing Loss Scotland recently visited 12 Scottish Enterprise offices and conducted over 150 hearing checks as part of the Act Now campaign.

Our staff and volunteers successfully helped Scottish Enterprise staff take action on hearing loss, with those who were identified with hearing loss following up by booking appointments with their GP’s. Staff feedback was hugely positive: "Malaika [Communications and Information Officer] was very informative and I will be following up on some of her advice in the near future. Very helpful."

Scottish Enterprise also took action by deciding to purchase induction loops to ensure greater accessibility in its offices and to help staff who use hearing aids.

At each office, staff and volunteers also distributed factsheets and leaflets to help ensure staff at Scottish Enterprise had access to information on hearing healthtinnitus and communication tips.
