Action on Hearing Loss' Sensory Engagement Programme is funding a new Citizens Advice Bureau drop in service in Derry starting with a pilot from January to March 2012. The first session will take place at the Citizens Advice Bureau office on the 5th floor of Embassy Building, Strand Road, BT48 7BH from 09:30 to 12:30.
This is a great opportunity for people who are deaf to get advice for the problems they face and information about their rights and responsibilities.
This service is offered in line with Sensory Engagement Programme’s aims to help people who are deaf with confidence building and access to their benefits.
The service will be run by Citizens Advice Bureau Advisor, Sean Doherty and British and Irish Sign Language (BSL and ISL) interpreters will be provided.
The drop-in service is for quick questions only. If you need more time, please text Stephanie O'Kane on 07587 770650 or email at stephanie.okane@hearingloss.org.uk to book a full appointment. Stephanie will also book an interpreter for you.
We will start drop-in service at every two weeks. We will run the service for three months to see how it goes. If the service is not used, we will stop providing it.
