Who we areWe are a specialist supported housing service in Westgate-on-Sea, Kent. We support men and women, aged 18 and over, who are deaf or have hearing loss with additional, and sometimes complex, needs including learning disabilities, autism, ADHD, ODD, mental ill-health and sensory loss.
We provide housing-related support to help people to live independently in a safe and happy environment. Our staff are on site 24 hours a day and there is an additional emergency on-call service. We use a range of communication techniques and always take a person-centred approach in every aspect of our care planning and review process, making sure that everyone is fully involved in their own support.
What we can offer - how we support you
We can give you a safe and comfortable home to live. St. Christopher’s offers a variety of accommodation across seven self-contained flats. Three of these flats are single occupancy, three are two-bedroomed, and one is a three-bedroomed flat.
All flats have their own kitchen, bathroom, living room and bedroom(s). St Christopher's also offers a communal kitchen and dining area on the ground floor that you can use to cook, eat meals and spend time with people living in the other flats if you wish.
Our staff team will support you to carry out day-to-day tasks as independently as possible, supporting and prompting you in a way that is right for you. We will support you to go to college, find a job and stay fit and healthy as well as support with housing-related matters such as benefits and looking after your money.
