We are a supported-housing service in Walsall. We can provide short and long-term support to men and women who are deaf, deaf/blind or hard of hearing.

      Who we are

We are a specialist supported-housing service in Walsall, West Midlands. We can provide short and long-term support to men and women, aged 18 and over, who are deaf, deafblind or have hearing loss with additional needs, such as a learning disability or mental ill-health.

Our housing-related support enables people to live independently, within a safe and relaxed environment, with staff on-site daily, from 9am–5pm. We are also domiciliary care-registered which means we can support people with their personal care needs, too, if this is required.

To move into one of our flats at Lysways Street, you would need to be able to pay your own rent, council tax and service charge, or you may be eligible for housing benefit. You would also need to be able to pay for your own support (self-fund) or have a Personal Budget.

What we can offer – how we support you

We can offer you a safe and comfortable place to live. Lysways Street is a converted Victorian house that has seven self-contained flats, each with their own bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and lounge. We also have a large garden with paved seating area, vegetable patch and greenhouse that you can use, and where the other tenants like to hold barbeques during the summer months.

Everyone who lives here holds their own tenancy agreement directly with the landlord and we provide housing-related support to make sure people are able to maintain their tenancies and look after their homes.

Our staff team works in a person-centred way, so you will feel empowered and enabled to carry out day-to-day tasks as independently as possible, with support where and when you need it. We will encourage, prompt and support you in all aspects of everyday life – from dealing with housing issues and budgeting to learning new skills, finding work and getting out and about.
