Action on Hearing Loss
It’s important for us to provide a consistent and high quality service to all people who use our services. Our pool of casual workers, known as relief workers, helps us do just that by providing cover for our employees in their absence.
Roles and responsibilities
As a relief worker you would be supporting people who use our services, to help them live as independently as possible. We provide person centred care to suit individual needs, helping
people who use the services to make real choices about their lives, develop confidence and acquire new skills.
You will have some understanding and experience of providing social care and/or support, either on a voluntary or paid basis. You will be understanding and empathetic with knowledge of deafness and deaf culture. You will have good communication skills. Knowledge of British Sign Language (BSL) will be an advantage and in some services essential.
All Relief Worker posts will be subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
