Campaign volunteer

Working with the Campaigns Team, working across Scotland.

About the Role

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us to carry out our Campaigns work in Scotland.

Working closely with our Campaigns Team, you will be supporting our Protect Your HearingHearing Check and Loop Campaigns.  This may involve attending events at Universities & Colleges, Music Festivals, Music Venues where you will be talking to the public about their listening habits, carrying out hearing checks, distributing information about listening to music safely, completing questionnaries in relation to listening habits. Or you may be attending events whereby a team of volunteers will check loop systems in public places to determine if organisations and businesses have hearing loop systems.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • An open and friendly approach
  • Good communication skills.

Training

A day's induction training is offered to potential volunteers to orientate you to Action on Hearing Loss's vision, values and work.  There is an opportunity to shadow other volunteers prior to your committing to volunteering with us.

Time Commitment

There is no minimum time commitment.  This opportunity operates on an ad hoc basis and in response to specific events.

Support and Supervision

Support and supervision often happens informally by Action on Hearing Loss staff whilst you are volunteering at events.  In addition, formal supervision is available to Action on Hearing Loss volunteers.
