"I was able to show my true potential"
Yasmin is 22 and profoundly deaf. She trained to become a hairdresser and needed to get some work experience to complement her training. We helped her to arrange work experience at Vidal Sassoon and to find a British Sign Language interpreter so she could communicate on an equal footing.
Yasmin told us: "I am really grateful for the communication support... I was able to show my true potential. I had an opportunity to learn new skills and build my confidence."
As well as providing communication support, our Access, Training and Consultancy services provide deaf awareness training and work-based assessments enabling organisations to better support employees who have a hearing loss. We also award our Louder Than Words charter mark to organisations that demonstrate the best possible service to customers and staff who need support.
