Action on Hearing Loss Cymru was established in 1997, and is the newest of the regional organisations. We support around 530,000 people who are deaf or have a hearing loss in Wales, their families and colleagues and provide advice and information around hearing loss.

We're committed to helping people with hearing loss in Wales tackle feelings of isolation or discrimination and support them to feel empowered and live independently.

Over the past few years, we've worked closely with the Welsh Government to achieve some important successes, including securing funding to train much needed lipreading tutors in Wales, developing the UK's first Accessible Information Standards for the NHS (external link, opens in new window) and introducing a 'Healthy Hearing' schools lesson plan into every secondary school in Wales.
