Around 530,000 people in Wales are deaf or have hearing loss, almost as much as the populations of Cardiff and Swansea combined.
Action on Hearing Loss Cymru was established in 1997. We work in local communities with the one-in-six people in Wales who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus, to prevent them becoming isolated.
We campaign in Wales to ensure people who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus have equal access to employment, health, entertainment and other services.
Our staff and volunteers work together to make us the largest hearing loss charity in Wales.
Over the past few years, we've worked closely with the Welsh Government to achieve some important successes, including developing the UK's first Accessible Information Standards for the NHS (external link, opens in new window).
We recently carried out research into deaf people looking for work in Wales. You can read our full report; Able, Ready to Work....and Deaf here. (word document, opens in a new window).
