Hear to Help Ayrshire and Arran

Getting used to wearing hearing aids takes time. Our Hear to Help support volunteers in Ayrshire and Arran are here to help you persevere so you can communicate more easily with family and friends.

To meet increasing demand across the region, our Ayrshire & Arran Hear to Help service now provides free support to more than 3,200 people with hearing loss. Volunteers hold monthly drop-in sessions, as well as visiting residential care homes, sheltered housing and older people's homes across the region.

Our volunteers are trained to clean ear moulds, replace tubing and provide new batteries so you don't have to travel to hospital for basic hearing-aid support. They also give you information on assistive technology that can help you to be more independent, such as amplified telephones, personal listeners and vibrating and flashing doorbells and alarms.

Now, the service is funded by the South Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership, East Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership and the North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership until the end of July 2017.
