A big thank you to everyone who has supported our work from individual members and supporters, to government departments, major funders and charities, and the hundreds of other organisations and businesses who have all played a part in helping us to achieve our aims.
We especially remember with deep gratitude the 478 donors who left gifts to us in their wills in 2009/10. Every legacy gift – however large or small – is truly appreciated.

People who make the very personal decision to include us in their will, once they've taken care of their family and friends, are tremendously important to continuing all our work. 52% of all our income from donors was through gifts in wills. This income is not restricted to any specific projects, so it is spent wherever the need is greatest.
87.8% of legacy income was from residuary legacies, where the donor left us a percentage share of their final estate. This type of legacy is particularly helpful for us because, unlike a cash legacy, it doesn't depreciate due to inflation over the donor's lifetime.
We are very thankful to everyone who made the generous once-in-a-lifetime decision to bring help and hope to the generations that follow them.
