Campaigns in Northern Ireland

Take action with us now! We're running a number of campaigns which help raise awareness and improve the lives of people who are deaf or have a hearing loss.

We've been working closely with the Northern Ireland Assembly and partner organisations to improve the lives of people with hearing loss in Northern Ireland.

Our current campaigns include:

We're calling on the Northern Ireland Assembly to work with us to introduce a national screening programme to identify hearing loss amongst the older population.

We are calling on the Northern Ireland Assembly to ensure better access to lipreading classes across Northern Ireland.

Protecting your hearing aims to raise awareness of how listening to loud music over long periods of time can damage hearing.

With your help we managed to convince the Secretary of State that BSL and ISL should be recognised as minority languages. Find out how you can help to continue the good work!

  • Increasing Audiology support

We're working to ensure that all audiology referrals meet the national waiting time target, including reassessments and refittings, which aren't currently part of the national waiting time target.

Let's work together to improve access to services. A recent study showed that four fifths of people that took part believe their hearing loss or deafness made it harder for them to use services.

Find out what's in our manifesto and how we're planning for the general election this year.
